To Be Named APA - (hey no one's perfect)

After brewing up the Cream Ale, I suddenly have the urge to brew up a Pale Ale, haven't had a good one in awhile so why not.

Poll choices for the next name, hoping on 1 or 3, not fond of 2, 4 I can live with.

Not too hoppy for a Pale Ale, just enough actually..Had planned to dry hop with Cascade but never got around to it...turns out it doesn't need it..Nice aroma, good mouthfeel and a decent head..

Twentysix 2 and Thirteen 1 Cream Ale

Wow, haven't updated this blog in awhile..Actually haven't brewed in awhile I guess, since I started running at least. I'm running the New Jersey Marathon with 2  incredible ladies..Aparna is running the full marathon, and honestly, there aren't enough words in the English language to accurately and fairly describe this girl. Ilene is other part of our running trio, she's  running the Long Branch half, she's fantastic..She runs MUCH faster than I can ever dream of, and Aparna is right behind her..They both sweet  enough to slow down for me :)

I decided to brew a Cream Ale just for this occasion, to celebrate us running the race. It's a light drinking beer that everyone likes. Light enough, anyone can enjoy it and not get overly full.

Recipe:

0.75 lbs Gambrinus Honey Malt
0.25 lbs Belgian Biscuit
6 lbs Pilsen malt syrup
1 oz Cluster (60 min)
Safale US-05 Ale Yeas
Alc: 4.8
Calories per 12 oz :151


I made 2 labels for this beer. The first one is twentysix 2 , this label is for the full marathon. I plan on giving Aparna a 6 pack to bring home to her husband, and she can have some of his..Aparna, this is a very light beer, it was selected with you in mind :) .. Please enjoy it, you earned it!

The 2nd label is for Ilene, called thirteen 1, for the half marathon, I'll give Ilene a 6 pack to bring home to enjoy and celebrate her first half marathon..

For a quick beer this came out great and it's cheap to make. Very light bitterness, good mouthfeel and nice head..Very happy with the results and the best part was everyone liked it..
